The Creator God

The Creator God The idea that love is the driving force behind the universe, is a fact because God is Love. Creation is an act of God alone, by which, for his own glory, he brings into existence everything in the universe. He created everything by word of mouth, things that had no existence before his creative word. The Christian doctrine of creation, however, refers to God who, by love, power, and wisdom, brings into existence things distinct from himself. Creation is the beginning of God’s Revelation of himself, in which his reality is manifested to his creatures in their very coming to be and continuing in existence. It is the basis of all other Christian doctrines. In creation, we see God’s lordship on display in his control over all things, his authority over all the universe, and his presence in every part of creation. Genesis 1:1 tells us” In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” Further, Genesis 1:3 tells us, “And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.” The entire creation, barring man, was done by word of mouth. God uses no preexisting material to create the universe. God’s act of creation causes matter, space, time, and even the very laws which govern the universe to exist. Regardless of the scientific explanations of ‘how’ it came to be, God, in one divine action from all of eternity, creates and sustains all that exists. The entire work of creation was finished in six days, and on the sixth day itself, God made man. Everything must be understood within the context of a distinction between Creator and creature. There are two distinct realities, and they cannot be mixed or confused with one another. All of our knowledge about the world is qualified, quantified and sustained by this distinction. There is a divine being and a created being, different in their attributes, powers, actions, rights, and obligations. God is self-sufficient, and everything that He created is dependent upon Him. God’s lordship includes his control over all things, his authority over all the universe, and his presence in every part of creation. God’s work of creation underscores his lordship in all of these respects. Creation establishes God’s ownership of all things in heaven and earth. Revelation 4:11 “Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.” Because all things are his, there is no limitation to his controlling power. It also establishes his authority, his right to tell all creatures what to do. Jesus shows that he alone is the creator, as He commands the waves to be still. ‘Peace be still, and also brings healing. He is the unquestioned, unchallenged and absolute Creator and God. Creation is also the basis of God’s presence in all places of the universe. God’s creation, therefore, is a universal revelation of his lordship. Recognising the lordship of God, by his control, authority, and presence, makes it an obligatory response on our part to worship the Creator. God has made the world for his own glory; therefore, when we consider creation, we should bring him praise, glory and Honour. Romans 11:36 “For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory forever. Amen.” Dr Ashwin Drummond Laddertoheaven.co.in
